Our dentists use a wide variety of diagnostic tools and techniques to reliably diagnose and treat dental and other oral issues. Here is the list of few of the diagnostic tools and techniques that we utilise in our clinic:

X-Rays: Our dentists utilise X-rays to check the health and wellbeing of your teeth. Our dentists can view the inside of your mouth, including your teeth and the tissues that surround them in great detail using these diagnostic images. By taking X-rays, our dentists can also spot any possible problems that might not be visible during a routine exam. We recommend X-rays for the majority of patients at least once a year.

Caries Detection Dye:Are you trying to find the best approach to spot tooth decay?  We recommend caries detection dye! This innovative diagnostic tool uses a specially formulated dye to identify the presence of cavities, also known as tooth decay. Simply apply the dye to your teeth and any areas of decay will absorb it, making it easy for our dental professionals to detect and treat the problem. Being rapid and non-intrusive , caries detection dye is also incredibly accurate at spotting deterioration in its early stages. Don’t wait until it’s too late – choose caries detection dye for the best in cavity detection.

Plaque Disclosing Agent: Want to take your oral hygiene to the next level? Plaque disclosing agent can help! This diagnostic tool uses a special agent to identify areas of the mouth where plaque, a sticky film of bacteria, is present. Simply apply the agent to your teeth and any areas of plaque will turn a different color, making them easy to spot. Plaque disclosing agent is an excellent tool for identifying those hard-to-reach areas of your mouth that can be tricky to clean with a toothbrush and floss. It’s also a great way for our dental professionals to teach you how to effectively clean your teeth and maintain a healthy mouth.

Thermal Pulp Testing: Looking for a quick and simple way to determine the condition of your tooth’s pulp? Thermal pulp testing is the answer! This diagnostic tool applies a small amount of heat or cold to the tooth using a special instrument, and the response of the pulp to this stimulus is used to determine its overall health.  Thermal pulp testing is a non-invasive and highly accurate way to assess the health of the pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels and is essential for the overall health of your teeth.

COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Choose the right cosmetic dentistry option for your smile

Close-up of a patient's newly transformed smile after undergoing cosmetic dentistry procedures

Cosmetic dentistry is a field of dentistry that focuses on improving the appearance of the teeth, mouth, and smile. There are many different procedures that fall under the umbrella of cosmetic dentistry, including filling, straightening crooked teeth, whitening discoloured teeth, filling gaps between teeth, replacing missing teeth, restoring worn down teeth, correcting a gummy smile, using Cerec crowns, undergoing bone grafting, using crowns, and using veneers.

Each of these procedures is designed to address a specific cosmetic issue and improve the overall appearance of a person’s teeth. Filling is a procedure used to repair teeth damaged by decay or injury, using materials such as composite resin, porcelain, or gold. Orthodontic options, such as braces and aligners, can be used to straighten crooked teeth. Teeth whitening can be used to brighten and whiten discoloured teeth. Gaps between teeth can be filled using techniques such as bonding, veneers, or orthodontic treatment. Silver fillings, also known as amalgam fillings, are a more affordable but less aesthetic option for filling cavities.

Missing teeth can be replaced with dental bridges, dentures, or dental implants. Worn down teeth can be restored with bonding, veneers, or crowns. A gummy smile, which is when too much gum tissue is visible when smiling, can be corrected through gum reshaping or crown lengthening. Cerec crowns are a type of dental crown that can be created and placed in a single appointment using CAD/CAM technology. Bone grafting is a surgical procedure that involves using bone tissue or synthetic material to repair or rebuild bone in the jaw, often in preparation for dental implants. Crowns are dental restorations that cover the entire surface of a tooth and are used to protect and strengthen a damaged or at-risk tooth. Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are placed over the front surface of a tooth to improve its appearance. Each of these cosmetic dentistry procedures can be used individually or in combination to achieve the desired result for a person’s smile.

Cosmetic dentistry is a branch of dentistry that focuses on improving the appearance of a person’s teeth, mouth, and smile. It involves a variety of procedures that can be used to enhance the look of a person’s teeth. Here are some of the common cosmetic issues that we can help with:

Filling: Repair damaged teeth with fillings! This cosmetic dentistry procedure involves filling in damaged areas of the tooth with materials such as composite resin, porcelain, or gold. Fillings help to restore the function and appearance of the tooth, giving you a healthier and more attractive smile.

Crooked teeth can be a cosmetic concern for many, but at our dental clinic, we offer a range of solutions to help straighten them. From braces to aligners, we have the tools and expertise to improve the appearance of your smile and give you the confidence to show it off.

Teeth Discolouration: Brighten your smile with our cosmetic dentistry options! Teeth discolouration can be caused by a variety of factors, but at our dental clinic, we offer solutions to help. From teeth whitening to other cosmetic treatments, we have the tools and expertise to help brighten and whiten your discoloured teeth.

Spacing: Close the gaps in your smile with our range of gap-filling techniques! These spaces between teeth can be caused by a variety of factors, but they can be effectively addressed with treatments such as bonding, veneers, or orthodontic treatment.

Silver filling: Get silver amalgam fillings that are strong and reasonably priced! These fillings, also known as silver fillings, are known for their durability and affordability. They are constructed of a combination of metals, including silver, copper, and tin. Silver amalgam fillings are a dependable option for correcting cavities even if they might not be the most cosmetically acceptable solution, especially when placed in the front teeth. Consider this filling material for your next dental treatment and get the strong, affordable results you need.

Missing teeth: Get a complete, functional smile with our tooth replacement options! Missing teeth can be replaced using dental bridges, dentures, or dental implants. Dental bridges involve attaching a false tooth to surrounding teeth, while dentures are removable appliances that can replace a full set of teeth. Dental implants, on the other hand, are a more permanent solution that involves surgically placing a metal post in the jawbone to support a crown or bridge. Don’t let missing teeth hold you back – consider our tooth replacement options today and get back to enjoying a full range of dental function.

Worn down teeth: Restore your worn down teeth with our range of treatment options! Replacement teeth alternatives: Enhance your smile and improve your oral health with our range of tooth replacement options! Dental bridges, dentures, and dental implants are all excellent choices for replacing missing teeth. Dental bridges are an effective way to fill the gaps left by missing teeth, while dentures offer a removable solution for those who have lost a full set of teeth. Dental implants, on the other hand, are a more permanent option that involves surgically placing a metal post in the jawbone to support a crown or bridge. Let us help you regain a full and functional smile with our tooth replacement options.

Veneers: Are you looking to improve the appearance of your teeth? Dental veneers may be the answer! Dental veneers are custom-made, wafer-thin shells of tooth-colored materials designed to fit over the front surface of your teeth. They can be made from either porcelain or resin composite materials, and can help to change the color, shape, size, or length of your teeth. Porcelain veneers tend to resist stains better and more closely mimic the light-reflecting properties of natural teeth, but you should consult with your dentist to determine which material is best for you. Whether you choose porcelain or resin veneers, dental veneers can be a great way to enhance the appearance of your smile and boost your confidence.

Teeth whitening: Looking for a brighter, more dazzling smile? Teeth whitening may be the answer! This popular cosmetic dental procedure uses special products and techniques to lighten the color of your teeth. Whether you choose an in-office treatment or an at-home kit, you have several options to choose from. In-office treatments tend to be more expensive and require multiple visits to the dentist, but they offer faster and more dramatic results. At-home kits are more affordable and can be used on a schedule that fits your needs, but they tend to provide more gradual results. No matter which option you choose, teeth whitening can help you achieve a smile that you’ll be proud to show off.

Dental bonding: Are you looking for a quick and easy way to improve the appearance of your smile? Dental bonding may be the solution you’ve been looking for! This procedure involves applying a tooth-colored composite resin to your teeth and shaping it to match the surrounding teeth. Composite resins are ideal for restoring decaying teeth and making cosmetic improvements, such as concealing discoloration, filling minor gaps, correcting crooked teeth, and brightening your smile. Dental bonding can typically be done in a single visit and is a great option for fixing minor imperfections.

Tooth-colored fillings: Tooth-colored fillings are a type of filling used to repair cavities in the teeth. They are made of a composite resin material that is matched to the color of the surrounding teeth, making them less visible than traditional silver fillings. Tooth-colored fillings are more aesthetically pleasing and can be used to repair cavities in the front teeth, where they are more visible.

Composite bonding: Are you looking to improve the appearance of your teeth? Dental Bonding is a cosmetic dental procedure that may be a good solution!

This cosmetic dental procedure involves using a tooth-colored resin to repair minor chips, discoloration, misalignment, or spacing issues in your teeth.  Dental Bonding, or composite bonding, is a form of adhesive dentistry where your dental professional applies a tooth-coloured resin, which is a plastic material, to a broken, crooked or wrongly spaced tooth to correct the position, size or shape of a tooth or set of teeth. The resin is bonded with the material of your tooth and helps improve the overall aesthetics of your smile.

One of the benefits of dental bonding is that the adhesive materials used can stick to a variety of materials, including enamel, dentin, metal, porcelain, ceramic, and zirconia, with a single application.  This ensures that your fillings last for a long time.

If you are interested in improving the appearance of your smile, it is important to consult with a qualified and experienced dental professional to determine the best course of treatment for your specific needs and goals. Our dental clinic is located at Aluva and Kathrikadvu, Kochi.

Cosmetic solutions refer to a variety of procedures that can be used to improve the appearance of a person’s teeth, mouth, and smile. Some of the most common cosmetic solutions include take-home whitening, laser teeth whitening, in-chair whitening, inlays and onlays.

Take-home whitening: Take-home whitening is a type of teeth whitening treatment that involves using a specially formulated whitening gel or solution at home. The individual wears a custom-made tray filled with the whitening gel or solution over their teeth for a specified period of time, usually for several hours or overnight. Take-home whitening is a more affordable and convenient option than in-office treatments and can be used on a schedule that fits the individual’s needs. However, it tends to provide more gradual results than in-office treatments.

Laser teeth whitening: Laser teeth whitening is a type of in-office teeth whitening treatment that involves using a special light or laser to accelerate the bleaching process. The individual’s teeth are coated with a whitening gel or solution, and the light or laser is used to activate the bleaching agents in the gel, resulting in faster and more dramatic results. Laser teeth whitening is more expensive and requires multiple visits to the dentist, but it can provide significantly better results than take-home whitening or over-the-counter products.

In-chair whitening: In-chair whitening is a type of teeth whitening treatment that is performed in the dental office. The individual’s teeth are coated with a whitening gel or solution, and a special light or laser is used to activate the bleaching agents in the gel. In-chair whitening is more expensive and requires multiple visits to the dentist, but it can provide significantly better results than take-home whitening or over-the-counter products.

Inlays and onlays: Inlays and onlays are types of dental restorations that are used to repair cavities or other damage to the teeth. They are made of a variety of materials, including porcelain, gold, or composite resin, and are custom-made to fit the individual tooth. Inlays are used to repair damage to the center of the tooth, while onlays are used to repair damage to the cusps (points) of the tooth.

Wisdom tooth removal: Say goodbye to wisdom tooth pain and problems with wisdom tooth removal! This surgical procedure involves removing one or more of your third molars, also known as wisdom teeth. Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to come in, and they often do not have enough room to emerge properly, leading to pain, infection, and other dental issues. Wisdom tooth removal may be necessary to prevent these problems or to address existing issues.

Apicoectomy: Save your tooth and prevent further damage or infection with an apicoectomy! This surgical procedure involves removing the tip of the root of a tooth and any infected tissue that may be present. It is often performed when the root of a tooth has become infected or damaged and cannot be treated with a root canal procedure. Don’t let an infected or damaged tooth ruin your smile – consider an apicoectomy for a healthier, more attractive smile. Trust the professionals to help you regain your confidence in your smile and your dental health with an apicoectomy.

Dental Implants – Implant Overdenture

Implant Retained Overdentures

Your dentist will help you understand the procedures involved with implant dentistry. Optimum tooth replacement is achieved with dental implants and can be used in supporting full or partial dentures.

Implant retained dentures offer stability and support for anchoring removable dentures wither full or partial. The denture stays firmly in place while chewing and conversing but can be easily removed for cleaning.

Two or more implants are used to stabilise a full lower denture. This allows freedom to eat whatever you like with the confidence that the dentures won’t move in your mouth.

Dental Implants have a high clinical success rate and patients who have opted for implant retained dentures often remark how similar they feel to their own natural teeth.

Invisalign Treatment

How Invisalign Treatment Works

Once you and your dentist agree that Invisalign treatment is right for you, your dentist will take photos, X-rays, and either impressions or a scan of your teeth. These records will be used to make a 3D treatment plan, referred to as the ClinCheck treatment plan, which will be used to design the custom-made Invisalign aligners. This 3D treatment plan will also show your likely final tooth position at the end of the treatment. Your custom-made Invisalign aligners will be produced and then shipped to your doctor, who will then give you a series of aligners, typically 3 to 4 sets at a time. You will replace each one approximately every 2 weeks until the final position of your teeth is reached.

Invisalign aligners are an effective way to straighten teeth. There are also several other specific advantages to Invisalign treatment:

  • Virtually invisible: Invisalign aligners are the clear alternative to braces, giving you a virtually invisible treatment option that lets you keep your confidence, beautiful smile, and lifestyle even when you are in treatment.
  • More Comfortable: Invisalign aligners are comfortable, with no metal brackets to irritate your gums or the inside of your mouth.
  • Maintain oral hygiene: Invisalign aligners are removable, so it’s easier to clean your teeth and maintain your oral health during treatment.
  • Potentially fewer doctor visits: Invisalign treatment typically requires fewer doctor visits than some types of  braces.
  • Visualize the progressive movement: Invisalign treatment allows you to visualize each stage of the treatment process, from the beginning to the end.
Also, some patients may require additional steps like refinement, to complete the treatment.
